Threads of Sovereignty — A Cultural Narrative Editorial

Cultural Narrative / Art Direction

This photoshoot explores a pre-assimilation moment between Renaissance-era European influence and Indigenous cultures of early American colonial territories. I developed the concept to highlight Indigenous identity, resilience, and cultural dominance before full cultural shift. Through styling and direction, I blended Renaissance-inspired posing with Indigenous textures, symbolism, and natural elements to create a reimagined visual narrative. Each image centers themes of leadership, spirituality, and community, using objects and composition to tell a deeper story. I directed models on set to embody calm authority and connection to the land while maintaining historical and emotional authenticity. Final images were captured and refined through Adobe Creative Suite to enhance tone, cohesion, and storytelling.
